We posted a friendly reminder of our food policy on our Twitter account yesterday.

A faculty member had questions.
It’s OK. Please introduce us to your friend so we can monitor them. I mean, offer to assist them in any way.

Lots of questions. So many questions.
Due to our impeccable manners, we are too shocked to contemplate this scenario in depth. The library is a place of refuge, but we will turn wrongdoers over to the authorities.

We kept getting called on to answer more hypotheticals.
We frown on your cavalier attitude toward library facilities. ☹️ “So long as it is properly sealed”…with what, unicorn tears? There is no such thing as a spillproof blender. Please put your smoothie in a cup with a lid before bringing it into the library. We cannot be bribed.

Good thing we are a library and had done our reading! We were ready!
Leave pens/pencils in your locker if you’re worried about them being stolen; just bring your laptop. Nails aren’t food, so don’t bite them. If your gnawing annoys other library users, we may ask you to stop or leave. Andy is eating a fun size Almond Joy in the Commons.

Bring on the exam questions based on law library food policy. We’ve got this!
Thanks to Professor Stoughton for helping us get the word out about the law library rules:
- no food, and
- drinks in spillproof containers only.
